Installing PHP

Plesk provides full support for the PHP scripting language, including support for multiple PHP versions and handler types out of the box. This topic explains how Plesk administrator can install PHP on the server.

Installing PHP

To install PHP, go to Tools & Settings > Updates and Upgrades to start the Plesk Installer. Click Add/Remove Components, expand the Web hosting section, and then the PHP interpreter versions section. You will be able to select the PHP versions to install:

The standard PHP handler types for the PHP versions you install will be configured automatically. Plesk gives you the ability to make individual combinations of PHP version + PHP handler type available or unavailable to the customers, and also to configure PHP settings for every PHP version individually.

To enable your customers to use the PHP-FPM handler on Plesk for Linux installations, go to Tools & Settings > Updates and Upgrades. Click Add/Remove Components, expand the Web hosting section, and then the Nginx web server and reverse proxy server section, and select the PHP-FPM support from OS vendor option:
