Starting from Plesk 12, you can choose from four Plesk editions that have features mostly used by four main audiences who use web servers today.
- Plesk Web Host Edition, for web hosters who allow their customers to use their shared account in almost any configuration they want. They want secure WordPress and domain management tools to support their multi-tenant, "install anything" customers.
- Plesk Web Pro Edition, for web professionals who design, develop, and deploy their websites. They want a simple way to manage their customers’ websites, including their growing use of WordPress as a CMS platform.
- Plesk Web Admin Edition, for web administrators who manage sites for an employer, a business, or for themselves. They want simple website and domain management without all of the service provider overheads, like management of customers, resellers or subscriptions.
- Plesk Web App Edition, for web application developers who build and deploy web applications. They want powerful server management tools for custom application development and deployment.

Note: Since Web Admin and Web App editions do not support subscription management, Plesk Migration & Transfer Manager cannot be used in these editions. However, it is still visible in the interface. Internal request PPP-9848 has been submitted to deal with this discrepancy.
Plesk edition and add-ons are defined by your licence.
To use Fail2Ban and web application firewall (ModSecurity), administrators who upgrade from Plesk 11.5 must obtain a new license key for Plesk 12 from Odin or their vendor.
